Why should I choose Maine Limousine Service?

Maine Limousine Service has been in business since 1987. We are the largest limousine service in Maine and we were voted the #1 limousine service in Greater Portland for 2004, 2005 and 2006 by Market Surveys of America. Our chauffeurs are professionally trained and attired and required to maintain a perfect driving record. What are your hours of operation?
Our dispatch office is open Monday thru Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm; Saturdays from 9:00am to 1:00pm. Our vehicles run 365 days a year, 7 days a week, 24 hours a day. If you have an emergency or require immediate assistance after business hours our service will give you an emergency number to call. |top|

When do my charges begin and end when renting a limousine?
This is referred to as "Trip Time" and is based on the chauffeur's time of departure from our location until the return to our location. |top|

What is your minimum hourly requirement?
There is a three hour minimum in most cases such as nights out on the town and weddings. There are exceptions for Portland Jetport transfers and most corporate services. Please call us with specific questions regarding hourly minimums. Let us tailor the trip to your needs. |top|

How do I know what size limousine is best for my needs?
Limousines are rated by the number of passengers they are allowed to hold. Maine Limousine has sedans (2-3 passengers), stretch limousines (up to 6 passengers), super stretch limousines (up to 10 passengers), SUV's (up to 7 passengers), vans (up to 14 passengers) and super stretch SUV's (up to 14 passengers). For the best comfort for your event you should subtract 2 from the above numbers (except for sedans). If you are booking airport transportation, please be aware of the size and amount of luggage your party has; if you have 8 people going to Logan airport with a lot of luggage you would want to consider using the 14 passenger SUV or our 14 passenger van for the most comfort. |top|

How do I reserve a limousine?
Simply call our office with a credit card number. For new customers your card will be charged on the date you book your trip. For established accounts in good standing, the trip will be charged once it is complete. If your trip requires a deposit, i.e. proms, weddings, special events, the deposit will be charged the day you book your trip. If you would like to pay by check we still need a credit card number to hold your reservation. All personal check payments must be received 10 days prior to your event. Please contact us for information regarding the establishment of a new corporate account. |top|

Can I pay cash for the trip?
Cash is always accepted; however we do need to have a credit card on file to hold a reservation. |top|

How do I handle the gratuity for the chauffeur?
Standard gratuity is between 15% and 20% of your trip, about what you would pay at a restaurant. For most trips we do not dictate gratuity except in the case of a wedding or prom where there is a required minimum for gratuity. You can either pay your chauffeur cash or we can add the gratuity to your credit card after the trip is completed. |top|

What is your cancellation policy?
Cancellations within 24 hours of a scheduled vehicle departure are subject to a $25 rescheduling fee. Cancellations within 3 hours of scheduled vehicle departure time will be charged 1/2 trip fare. No-shows and/or cancellations after scheduled vehicle departure will be charged full fare, including gratuity.

NOTE: Cancellations or changes CANNOT be made by e-mail, voice message or fax within 24 hours of reservation departure time without a phone conversation with the dispatcher. An emergency phone number is provided during non-business hours. |top|

WEDDING FAQ'S

How far in advance should I book my wedding?
As soon as you have confirmed your wedding date, church and reception location, it is a good idea to book your limousine. Our Bentley is booked for the wedding season very early on so you will want to make your reservation as soon as you have your information.

How do I go about booking my wedding?
Give Kim, our Special Events Coordinator, a call with your wedding information. There is a $100 deposit required for the stretch and super stretch limousine and a $200 deposit required for our Bentley and super stretch SUV. All balances are due 10 days prior to your wedding.

What is included in a wedding package?
Our wedding package includes complimentary Champagne or sparkling cider, red wedding carpet, "Just Married" sign and a professionally trained and attired chauffeur. Multi-car discounts are available. The chauffeur is there for you and to serve your needs, so additional stops and changes to your schedule within your rental time can be made at the last minute with no additional charge.

AIRPORT FAQ'S

What is offered with airport service?
Our airport service is a door-to-door service in a private vehicle of your choice. We provide complimentary water and a daily newspaper for your trip.

Where do I meet my limousine at the airport?
Due to Homeland Security, our chauffeurs are not allowed to leave their vehicle for an airport pick up, so you must meet your chauffeur at the designated limo pick up areas. We do have a "meet and greet" service for an extra fee. Chauffeurs will monitor your flight and plan to arrive at the airport 15 min. after the actual arrival of your domestic flight and 30 min. after the actual arrival of your international flight unless otherwise instructed. This is to allow time for luggage pick up and/or to clear customs and so you do not incur unnecessary waiting time charges.

Portland Jetport: Go out baggage claim doors and the limo pick up area is directly to your right.

Manchester Airport: Exit the main terminal doors, cross 2 streets to parking area. Meet your chauffeur down the stairs in the lower parking lot.

Logan Airport:
Terminal A - Exit Terminal, cross over to the 3rd traffic island, meet your chauffeur across the street to your left.

Terminals B, C & D - Meet your chauffeur at the "Departure Level", above baggage claim, 2nd level, limousine parking area.

Terminal E - Exit Terminal, cross over to the 2nd traffic island, meet your chauffeur across the street to your left. |top|

What if my flight is late?
Our chauffeurs monitor all flights before they leave our location and adjust the time they leave accordingly. There are times that the chauffeur has checked the flight and everything is on time only to find out upon arriving at the airport that the plane is delayed. Our chauffeurs will wait for your flight. There is a minimal waiting fee billed on the ¼ hour, but our chauffeurs will not leave you stranded if your flight is delayed. If you do find out your flight is going to be delayed, please call our office ASAP, anytime day or night and we will get in touch with the chauffeur to let him/her know the flight status. If it is after office hours, an emergency number will be on our answering service, do not hesitate to call.

PROM FAQ'S

How far in advance should I book my Prom?
Prom season is very short and there is usually more than one school having a prom on the same weekend, so as soon as you know the date of your prom you will want to book your limousine. Limousines for proms are historically completely booked by the beginning of March.

How do I reserve a limousine for my Prom?
Prom is a great time for everyone involved!!! To reserve a limousine for your prom you need a $200 deposit for stretch limousines, super stretch limousines, and the super stretch SUV. All balances are due 30 days prior to the event. A credit card number is required to be on file to book a limousine for prom, and we must speak to the owner of the credit card. You can pay by cash or personal check and the full amount needs to be paid 30 days prior. Deposits are non-refundable.

Passengers for proms are also required to sign an "I Promise" agreement. The agreement states that only the people on the list will be allowed in the vehicle and that there will be no smoking, drugs or alcohol in the vehicle at any time. If any part of the agreement is broken, the passengers will be returned home and no refund will be given. |top|
